About Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery

Mt Boucherie Winery holds a historic place in Okanagan wine history (and the province's history in general). Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery tends vines at the home block in West Kelowna, but they also have substantial holdings in another region defined by volcanic rock, the Similkameen.

Isadore Boucherie was a farmer and settler who tended fields in West Kelowna and as far away as Rutland. The namesake, extinct volcano in West Kelowna once stood at 2000ft, but after much erosion, now reaches only 417ft high. This is great news, as we know that the volcanic rocks have broken up and sent minerals and nutrients into the local soils, defining the regional terroir.

After 50 years of viticulture and an equally impressive run as a winery, Mt Boucherie can boast a wealth of vineyards, winemaking talent and a robust portfolio of products that show off a sense of place. And, when you visit the winery, you are greeted by knowledgeable staff, a top notch restaurant and killer views of the Okanagan. This winery is not only historic, but it is innovative.

We were captivated by the new line of wines Mt Boucherie and Jeff are making - Modest Wines. Cheeky names and fun stories share the spotlight with great winemaking and interesting varieties like Sangiovese and Carménère.
