Observatory Wines

Observatory Wines is one of Summerland's most distinctive boutique wineries, perched above Okanagan Lake with some of the best views in the valley. Founded by Blair Gillingham — a winemaker with over two decades of experience, starting at Sumac Ridge Winery in 2001 — Observatory crafts small-lot wines from carefully selected vineyard sources across BC. Blair's approach is intentional and unhurried: each wine reflects a specific place, vintage, and story.

The tasting room and picnic area welcome visitors Friday through Sunday for a relaxed, no-rush experience featuring unique varieties, back vintages, and sparkling wines you won't find anywhere else. Drop in without a reservation for small groups, or book ahead for a full seated tasting. Observatory also hosts live music events, seasonal celebrations, and is available as a wedding venue — making it one of the most memorable settings in the Okanagan valley.
