For many, sparkling wines are reserved for special occasions, celebrations and the impromptu in between – for Bella every day is worth celebrating. BC’s only winery producing exclusively sparkling Okanagan wines, Jay and Wendy use a variety of organic techniques focused on maintaining and improving the health of the soil on their property. 

Maybe the last team to buy into Naramata as small independent producers, Bella is a working farm in the truest sense. From the rusted tractor parked hillside, the cherry and walnut trees overlooking the gulch, to the heritage breed chickens and prized pigs – whose silhouettes grace the bottles – the property looks, feels and is the idyllic farm we all dream of. Everything has a purpose.

A stop in their rustic, charming tasting room, steps from the vines is the highlight of your wine-tasting itinerary. Sparkling wines produced in both traditional and ancestrale method delight your palate and pair with anything!

Jay comes to wine-making via years of experience as a chef working in kitchens. He managed award-winning wine lists focused exclusively on the BC wine-industry while educating at a grass roots level and advising at the BC Wine Institute. Jay’s passion for the perfect marriage of food and wine from the Okanagan led him to try his hand at making his own wines, expressing and highlighting the best of the region.

Perched on the Naramata bench overlooking lake Okanagan, Jay lives with partner and hands on co-owner, Wendy Rose, their menagerie of animals and their beloved farm dog buddha – who we’re told has almost as many fans as their wines.

After more than a decade producing some of the most delicate bubbles valley wide, Jay refines his process through experimentation and a commitment to sustainable agriculture.

This is an easy one – Bella is a winery dedicated to producing delicate, and well-balanced sparkling wines – we’re ready for a glass! Each of the wines is a labour-intensive delight that we get to sit back, chill and enjoy. Drink these wines beach side along with your favourite picnic platter or tableside as the perfect accompaniment to that recipe you’ve been meaning to whip up.
