Chain Reaction Winery
Types of Wines
When you arrive at Chain Reaction, you’ll see that it is a very personal reflection of a couple’s journey to build a new life in the Okanagan. Athletics and cycling feature prominently in the winery’s story and in the tasting room décor. It’s fitting as the owners are avid Ironman competitors. You’ll feel like you are at home tasting Okanagan wines with the small team at Chain Reaction because you are…literally…in their house!
Winemaker Dwight Sick mentors Joel and Linda to produce some amazing Okanagan wines like Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Gew, Chardonnay and more. In fact, this winery won a Lieutenant Governors Platinum Award for their 2019 vintage Pinot Gris. And the awards haven’t stopped there, including a Wine Align GOLD for the Pinot Noir!
This couple purchased an acreage in Naramata, did a ton of research, planted the vines, built the cellar, renovated the existing house and started producing wine in the span of three years. They dug irrigation trenches, learned to prune, crafted relationships across the valley with grape growers and more.
Companies buy land and pour money into planting, building. Individuals might buy an operational winery, but it is extremely unusual these days to hear of two wine lovers that did indeed do it themselves. WOW!
Joel and Linda’s drive to succeed and make beautiful wine is evident in every sip you take.
Joel and Linda have great energy and you can feel their love for what they have built on the Naramata Bench.
The wines are top quality, aromatic and are a great reflection of terroir in the Okanagan. The story of this winery is one of the greatest DIY accomplishments in the Okanagan!
