Liber Farm and Winery’s original and current vineyards are about as far South as you can go in the Similkameen Valley – just before you hit the US border.

This valley is a paradise for organic winemaking, with its afternoon winds that keep the disease pressure low and its striking alluvial fans running off the steep mountains. Unique soils, the breeze and a climate that is incomparable make the area perfect for organic grapes.

Mike and Nicole discovered this back in 2016 when they set out to build an estate winery. They are intent on organic farming and producing rich and age-worthy wines. This location was a perfect fit.

Fast forward to now and Liber Farm is recognized for some outstanding Okanagan wines and never wavering from their commitment to organics. Notably, they have opened a tasting room in Osoyoos so more people can get to know these tasty wines.

Mike Anderson is a long time, consultant winemaker in the Okanagan. He has touched many of your favorite wineries as they got started and helped small wineries level up. Now, he’s working with fruit from one of the most awesome locations in BC under the Liber Farm label. This is great news!

Mike doesn’t shy away from big and bold reds (which is just what the Similkameen location produces), nor does he shy away from toasty oak. The result is that you get some bold flavours in your glass that tell the story of the unique, Similkameen Valley.

The owners are really humble, with their commitment to organics coming first. While the tasting room is small, their main vineyard South of Cawston is a grand sight, bordering the Similkameen river amidst striking mountain views.

Their whites are pure and aromatic and the reds, bold and rich!
