Solvero Wines
Types of Wines
Solvero Wines is located in the rugged Garnet Valley in Summerland. The winery is the dream of Matt Sartor, a former concert pianist and and passionate wine professional. Matt jumped in the deep end after acquiring 30 acres of land in the Garnet Valley. The terrain is rugged and very steep and Matt had to clear the land himself to make space to plant vines. It was back-breaking labour. Every day at work was worth it because now Matt tends some of the most unique terroir in the Okanagan — high altitude vines that face West and soak up the sun on hot days.
The team have planted Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. They’re focused on regenerative farming techniques, minimizing water use and experimenting with high density plantings.
Alison Moyes is a super star BC winemaker who spearheads the winemaking. You may have tasted some of Alison’s wines before if you have enjoyed a glass from producers such as Liquidity, Stoneboat or Osoyoos Larose.
This unique vineyard location is producing wine that turns heads. Challenging, steep terrain and a commitment to regenerative farming (think chickens and ducks roaming the land) means they are always working towards that perfect glass of wine.
